Romance is romance, right? But who is reading these books?

I for one—and I do not eat this negatively—just haven’t been able to get into a M/M romance. I live with a male and I’m male, and we share a great romantic life.

In our gay-porn-soaked Internet culture of instant gratification, I wonder if gay men are reading these types of slower-moving love stories? Or is the target audience women who enjoy reading M/M romance?

I will say the only example of a gay romance I very was able to get brought was the longer short story “Brokeback Mountain” by E.
